Privately owned Alpena Veterinary Clinic in beautiful Northeast Michigan is looking to add a motivated and driven doctor to our team of compassionate care givers. Alpena Veterinary Clinic has a customer-centered approach to patient care with a tenacious desire to implement modern medicine. We will consider a candidate that would like to focus on companion animals or companion animals and equine.
The team at AVC provides medical, surgical, regenerative, and alternative medicine for mixed animal patients at two locations. We have a recently remodeled small animal clinic and a equine treatment center. We take pride in offering modern medicine with a friendly home-town feel. This team is driven by goals, team meetings, a dedicated leadership team with years of experience and interested in everyone’s ideas and suggestions. On this team you will be able to contribute to the direction and decision making of the leadership team by sharing your ideas and experiences in team meetings.
As a member of the team, you will have the support of an assistant who will learn your habits and help you navigate your onboarding with our clients. We believe a smooth transition is a must for everyone and that's what we will provide. If you are an experienced clinician, we encourage your individualism and if you’re new to the field mentorship is gladly provided as well. The leader of AVC loves to learn and would encourage you to embark on conferences, classes, or wet labs to expand your knowledge and skills.

Compensation includes:
Competitive Base pay (110,000-160,000) with Profit Sharing
Annual reviews to evaluate growth and compensation

Requirements
Proficient to excellent skills in soft tissue surgery of canines and felines
Originate treatment plans for a variety of small animal cases utilizing diagnostic tools in a modern facility
Build relationships with your team and clients based on trust, compassion, and communication
Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and owners to ensure the best option for difficult cases
