Description
Come Practice Good Medicine With People Who Actually Like What They Do
Caring Hands Animal Hospital is made up of two privately owned AAHA-accredited hospitals in North Florida, one traditional small animal practice focused heavily on wellness and preventative care, and one urgent care hospital that handles a steady mix of urgent cases, same-day work-ins, medical workups, and routine appointments. It is urgent care, but not the kind where you are running from one disaster to the next all day long. There is plenty of variety to keep things interesting without feeling like complete chaos.
The kind of veterinarian who does well here is someone who enjoys being trusted. Our doctors practice independently and manage their own cases day to day, but nobody is being thrown to the wolves either. The support staff in both hospitals are experienced, highly trained, and fully utilized. They know the flow, they know the medicine, and they make a huge difference in how smoothly the day runs. The doctors and management team meet regularly to talk through cases, protocols, hospital operations, and ways to continue improving. If someone needs help or another opinion, another DVM is always reachable. For the right new graduate, this can be a great place to grow.
We are happy to mentor motivated doctors who are excited to learn, willing to ask questions, and ready to build confidence quickly. Our team likes teaching, discussing cases, and helping each other improve. The medicine here is solid and thorough. Both hospitals are paperless and equipped with in-house lab equipment,
digital radiography, dental radiography, ultrasound, therapeutic laser, and the tools needed to practice efficiently and work cases up properly.
The culture is what makes people stay. People here genuinely enjoy each other. The days can be busy, but they are fun too. There is a lot of laughing, a lot of teamwork, and a lot of people stepping in to help each other when needed. We take the medicine seriously without taking ourselves too seriously. Most of us got into this field because we love animals and medicine, but we also still want time for family, hobbies, vacations, and a life outside of work. We believe you can have both.
That is also why there are:
- No on-call shifts
- No after-hours emergencies
- No weekends
- Flexible scheduling options
Outside of work, North Florida gives people room to breathe a little. Our hospitals are located in Lake City and Live Oak with easy interstate access to Gainesville, Jacksonville, Tallahassee, and Valdosta. The cost of living is reasonable, traffic is manageable, and there is no shortage of springs, rivers, parks, beaches, and outdoor
activities nearby. We are looking for veterinarians who care about practicing good medicine, communicate well with clients and staff, value teamwork, and are comfortable with or interested in continuing to develop routine soft tissue surgery skills. Experienced veterinarians and confident new graduates are both encouraged to apply.
We offer:
- Competitive Pro-Sal compensation with no negative accrual
- Signing bonus and relocation assistance
- 401(k) matching
- Medical insurance or stipend
- CE allowance plus licenses and dues
- Paid time off
- Uniform allowance
- Employee discounts
- Flexible scheduling
- Strong technical support staff
- And MORE!
If you are looking for a hospital where you can continue growing as a doctor, work with a capable and genuinely enjoyable team, practice quality medicine, and still have a life outside of work, we would love to talk with you.
And if you are looking for something a little different, part-time work, relief shifts, a more flexible schedule, or a position that does not fit perfectly into a standard full-time role, we are open to those conversations too. We know not everyone is looking for the exact same thing out of veterinary medicine anymore, and we are happy
to talk through what you are looking for and see if there is a good fit for both sides.
