Externship Opportunity | Emergency Veterinary Medicine

Are you a veterinary student looking to gain real, hands-on experience in a true emergency setting?
We’re opening our doors to 2–4 week externships inside our brand-new, 24/7 emergency hospital in Lees Summit, Missouri, and we’re looking for students who are curious, motivated, and eager to dive into the fast-paced world of ER medicine. This is more than shadowing. This is full immersion

You’ll be stepping into a state-of-the-art facility that just opened its doors in January, built intentionally to support high-level emergency care and an exceptional learning environment. Inside, you’ll find:
Advanced imaging and monitoring capabilities
Fully equipped surgical suites
A high-functioning ICU and treatment area
The latest technology designed to support real-time decision making
What your experience will look like
You’ll work alongside a collaborative, high-energy team of experienced ER DVMs who genuinely love what they do—and love teaching it.
During your externship, you can expect:
Exposure to a wide variety of emergency and critical care cases
The opportunity to be involved in case workups, diagnostics, and treatment planning
